About The Melt

The Melt is where bold flavor meets melty indulgence. We’re redefining comfort food, smashing, chopping, and smothering 100% Wagyu-Angus beef in aged cheddar to create the World’s Meltiest Burger. Every bite is crave-worthy, handcrafted, and completely free from artificial ingredients or additives. It’s comfort without compromise.

We take pride in everything we do. From juicy burgers to golden grilled melts, crispy buttermilk-brined chicken, creamy mac & cheese and thick hand-spun shakes – our food is obsessively crafted with premium ingredients and signature touches.

Located at 635 Fifth Ave, San Diego, CA 92101, The Melt operates as an american restaurant serving San Diego in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under fast food restaurant, takeout restaurant, sandwich shop, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Diego is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

The service was great. We got free cookie samples as we waited for our meal. The burger quality is good and the fries were hot. The bacon wasn’t very crispy. The lemonade was tasty 😋

What’s a great spot for a great burger and surprisingly a good salad. We read the reviews before going and it looked good. Everyone but me got a burger and fries and boy were they good (or so I was told). As I was waiting for my salad I was second guessing my choice of a salad. My son said it was one of the best burgers he ever had and the fries were great as well. Then my crispy chicken salad came and it look good, but then I tasted it and it was unbelievable. The chicken was tender and crispy and flavor was over the top. So yes if you want a great meal you should give the Melt a try and the next time I’m in town we will come back again!!

Delicious burger that was definitely super melty. We kept it simple with a bacon bbq double cheeseburger, bbq on the side. Wife and I split it and shared some amazing sweet potato fries. Very satisfying and hearty meal for us both. Very friendly staff, good service. Would recommend to others that want a darn good burger.

Absolutely delicious! We got a patty milk and added mushrooms, an egg, and bacon and it was so incredibly delicious. French fries were also good and the strawberry lemonade was bomb. It’s a pretty fatty greasy meal, but I just prep for that and you’ll love it.
